Thursday Books: Tribes
It’s been an incredibly busy but rewarding week here in our camp and a lot of really exciting things are in the pipeline. Unfortunately that has meant that the time for blogging has been extremely minimal, but we promise books every Thursday and books there shall be.
While the rigors of my schedule do not make it possible for me to provide an in-depth review at this juncture, I will provide the recommendation that anyone interested in starting anything from a cause/movement to a small business read Tribes by Seth Godin. It’s a small book and an enjoyably quick read. The concepts covered are fairly basic but lay the foundations for viewing how to begin to build critical mass for whatever it is you’re starting. Godin posits that there are people everywhere looking for someone to take them in some direction and that the traditional characteristics used to gauge leadership potential are not always as obvious or accurate as they seem.
If you’re passionate about something and want to know how to mobilize people toward your cause, read this book and review the examples to find some pretty inspiring messages.
I promise that we will go into it in depth when time permits but for now, please accept this recommendation.
Best,
-Patrick R
